London-born Don McCullin is feted as one of the greatest war photographers of all time. In fact, his photojournalism is deemed so powerful by the British government that in 1982, it prohibited him from covering the Falklands War. In his half-century-long career, McCullin has documented everything from civil unrest and ecological disasters to quotidian moments in British society and the “lost tribes” of southern Ethiopia. This collection of over 150 photographs (many of which are being shown in Berlin for the first time) provides an ideal sample of his “excruciatingly clear and moving” work. |
